SEO Services Company Needs Telemarketing Crutch

I was just called by an automated dialing system from a California company called Reliable Listing Services. They claim to offer SEO services for Google ranking in search engine results. The number that called me was 401-584-4164.

They play a short recording that mentions something about Google and it gave me the IMPRESSION that the call was coming from Google. They don't mention THEIR company and I think this is VERY deceptive. Once you hear the name Google and there is nothing that clarifies what the call is about, so naturally you stay on the line to learn what it is.

What they do is call companies if you have a listing in Google and offer to sell you a monthly service for $199 which is a "discount" from their normal price of $299.

When I asked the rep if they use what they are offering me, he told me they DON'T USE THEIR OWN SERVICE!! So if they don't use their system to market their own business, why would anyone else want to use it? If they have to use telemarketing, what does that say about the quality of what they offer?

Then, when I informed him that I am on the federal and state DO-NOT-CALL lists, he said he didn't WANT my business and hung up. He did NOT say he would remove our number from their system.

I am an Internet consultant with over 10 years experience. From what I can tell this is just another one of the rude, unprofessional,and over-priced SEO companies that gives our industry such a BAD REPUTATION. Please don't use any SEO or marketing company call calls you or sends you unsolicited spam emails. The professional companies don't need to do this, only those that want to take your money in return for very questionable services...!
